ABOUT ME
My name is Jessica Kritter and I am an acrylic painter.
I started painting at a young age and followed my passion into schooling where I gained a degree from the school of Beaux Arts in the south of France, where I currently live.
2019 marks the year of following my heart and fully embracing my artistic passions as a career, after some years in creative wilderness.
By making this decision I have returned to my true self and trusted that this was what I was meant for.
And today I know it has been the right choice.
CREATIVE PROCESS
When beginning a painting, I have no idea how it will finish, nor how, even, it will go along the way. My art is purely intuitive. The first brush strokes are exciting. Each piece has a common starting point - I start with a few selected colors from ripped out magazine pages - and from there I dive into the unknown. Layer upon layer, I let my creativity flow unobstructed.
INSPIRATION
Life itself is inspirational, I am inspired by everything I see, feel, experience. Colours, shapes, nature, emotions, LIFE!
And after weeks, months spent just the two us in constant dialogue, I release my painting into the world. It gives me great joy to know that it hangs on the walls of other homes, other spaces creating new dialogues in new surroundings. An entity of its own, no-longer mine.
